| That self-titled debut won them a substantial following among the public and melodic rock insiders alike. It received rave reviews in industry bibles like Kerrang and Burrn!, and it got them out playing live, on the road in 10 countries and 60 cities alongside acts like WHITESNAKE, HAREM SCAREM, and TYKETTO. Still, the band knew they had even more to offer. This intense, pomp-edged melodic rock quintet uses the same instruments as other acts in their genre. They use the same notes. They breathe the same air. Yet, consistently, SHOTGUN SYMPHONY albums are deeper, more fully realized, more viscerally affecting than all but the very best releases by their peers. It’s a powerhouse of a record with all of the ingredients that AOR and melodic rock lovers crave. The buzz around the band has always been intense. Formed in 1991 by keyboardist CHARLIE CALV and vocalist TRACY WHITE, they spent their fi rst year getting the band and songs together. In 1992, they started gigging around their home turf - the melodic rock hotbed of New Jersey, USA - and within month’s, they were discovered. “We played this show in March of 1993,” Calv recalled, “and this guy comes up to us and says, “you guys are brilliant, you would go down great in Europe?”.
