Formed in 2004, after several line-up changes, the band began touring different clubs of Northern Italy, proposing a repertory composed by hard rock covers (Bon Jovi, G’n’R, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Steelheart, etc.). In August 2004, the first band’s song, For Everything, was conceived and recorded at “Twilight Studio” in Senago (Milan).
The same year, in December, Planethard finished recording a mini-CD entitled “So Good” composed by 4 tracks and an intro. In May 2005 Planethard played at “Inkubo Café” in Milan for the Gotthard’s new release presentation night (“Lipservice”) including a jam session with Marc Lym and Leo Leoni, members of the memorable Swiss band.
After this exhibition the band garnered some attention from the critics and the media present at the performance; the band was asked to take part in several Hard Rock mini-festivals in the most important Live Clubs of Milan such as Alcatraz, Transilvania Live, Indian’s Saloon. In the summer of the same year they played at “Venice Rock Festival” in Venice, that saw the participation of Motorhead, Gotthard, Labyrinth, and at the semi-finals of Tim Tour in Plebiscito Square in Naples that saw the participation of Francesco Renga and Elisa. In March 2006 the band began recording its first real album that saw Alessandro Del Vecchio (vocalist of Edge of Forever and keyboard player of Moonstone Project) as Artistic Producer. On the 21th of October, The Studio Report, for the presentation to the press of the first CD “Crashed on Planet Hard” that included ten songs of pure rock stamp, took place at “Solid Groove Studio” in Ghiaie di Bonate Sopra, property of Massimo Numa and Claudio Pirola.
Thanks to the interest shown after the Studio Report, in December the magazine “Rock Sound”, directed by Daniel C. Marcoccia, dedicated an article to the band pointing out the artistic abilities of the four guys. In the same month, the band played as Soul Doctor’s support band for the dates in Milan. In January 2007 thanks to Live s.r.l., Planethard had the opportunity to play as support band of the memorable Swedish group “Europe”. The concert took place on the 23rd of January at “Alcatraz” in Milan. The same year, on the 2nd of June, the band had the honour to open the Gods of Metal 2007 edition. This is theire latest record released in the US in 2009.
