There's certainly no general way how the members of a band come together. In the case of Soul Doctor, the individual musicians had known each other for several years, before the band was actually launched and initially they hadn't planned at all to walk the stage together. In fact front-man Tommy Heart, of Fair Warning fame, and guitarist Chris Lyne already played together years ago in the Berlin Hard Rock band "Heartlyne", while Tommy and original bass player J.D. met for the first time at the beginning of the 90's on the occasion of a joint tour of their bands of that time: Fair Warning and Bonfire. In spite of all the success, they finally took the necessary action and took the risk of a complete fresh start. This step was simply necessary, it even turned out to be a tonic for creativity and enthusiasm of the four musicians.
Under the bandname Soul Doctor, which is a definite hint to the past, they spent the first six months of the year 2000 in their rehearsal room, in order to make intense efforts in working on the song material for their first album. They acted spontaneously in composing and this way created an earthbound harsh, blues-oriented sound which came from the very heart and became the distinct brand of the band. Already before the actual release of the first album in 2001, the Doctors presented themselves as support of Kingdom Come and gained positive reactions all the way. The band also played a support to Alice Cooper's only german show in Berlin, played a showcase in Paris and thrilled the rockfans at the biggest European Open Air Event: the Wacken Festival. The band didn't take a time out and immediately started composing and recording new songs for the next album. In spring 2002 they toured the concert halls with Axel Rudi Pell once again and after that finished the mix of the second longplayer "Systems Go Wild !". To beat the drum for the new release they already played together with Ronnie James Dio on his "Killing The Dragon" Tour in Germany. On this occasion they were again able to convince both, the audience as well as media of the Soul Doctor sound and to win quite a few more fans through a live performance full of energy. Approximately three years later and with a renewed line-up featuring a new rhythm section with Jogy Rautenberg on Bass and Mario B. on drums, Soul Doctor are back with a new long player entitled "For a Fistful Of Dollars". Following the great acclaim of the japanese release, the new album is simply an Hard Rock must with thumping rhythms and great anthems. The Band's new stage of their "Mission Rock'n'Roll": their own way of expressing themselves musically is followed consequently and their strict belief in rock going straight under your skin and to your heart is maintained.
